The services and procedures offered by Dr. Urteaga are all-encompassing in terms of podiatric care and treatment. In addition to routine foot care and treatment, Dr. Urteaga also provides foot-related sports medicine along with care and treatment of diabetic foot issues.

Because of Dr. Urteaga’s interest in exercise, fitness and sports; he also has a special interest in the sports medicine aspect of podiatry. In most instances, Dr. Urteaga will see an injured athlete within 24 hours. He also maintains a thorough understanding of the foot in function and can properly diagnose and treat foot and ankle pathology as it relates to the entire body.

The diabetic foot is another interest of Dr. Urteaga’s. He clearly understands that the key to decreasing the rate of amputation in diabetics is thorough and routine foot exams, and appropriate footwear. When problems such as ulcerations and infections do arise in the patient with diabetes, Dr. Urteaga has the knowledge to treat and be a part of the team in limb salvage.
